Fiber optic accounts for 90% of lines and 18.3 million broadband accesses (+6.2%) in 2024, according to CNMC
Fiber to the home (FTTH, for its acronym in English) represented 90.3% of active lines at the end of 2024 and added 1.69 million new accesses, reports the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) this Thursday.

Fiber optics is one of the most advanced forms of fixed broadband that exists today. Although this type of connection has a wide deployment in Spain, there are still places where it does not reach properly, with a weak signal of less than 100 Mbps. In the Community of Madrid, they are working to change that: their latest project aims to strengthen this connectivity in rural areas of the southwest and the Sierra Norte.
