TIM sells its submarine cable subsidiary and Sparkle goes public for €700 million.

Telecom Italia (TIM) has formalized the sale of its international subsidiary Sparkle, specializing in submarine cables, to Boost BidCo, a corporate vehicle controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and owned by Retelit.

Masorange grants China’s ZTE a submarine cable connection in the Basque Country between Sopelana and Irún.

Alphavalue / Divacons | La telecom española ha adjudicado a ZTE, el fabricante chino de redes de telecomunicaciones, un proyecto para construir una línea de fibra óptica en el País Vasco, conectando Sopelana (Vizcaya), donde llegan cables submarinos trasatlánticos, con la frontera francesa en Irún. La nueva infraestructura permitirá ofrecer una ruta alternativa u diversificada entre el norte de España y Francia.
